New Zealand beauty school, Elite School of Beauty and Spa, has launched a new campus in the heart of the Wellington CBD to train the next generation of industry professionals and beauty entrepreneurs.
Elite School of Beauty and Spa, based in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, and now Wellington, trains nearly 1,000 ‘Elite standard’ beauty therapists per year.
To support more learners to become work-ready, the new campus located at Level 6/18 Willis Street, has larger workspaces and more equipment than its previous headquarters – enabling students to effectively put their theoretical knowledge to practice.
The upgraded equipment and facilities include: a makeup classroom, electric beauty beds, portable makeup stations, and professional studio mirrors and lighting.
The new purpose-built studio simulates a real salon with privacy curtains for each station, providing students with a dedicated space to perform treatments on customers, so they graduate with valuable industry experience to hit the ground running in the workforce.
The state-of-the-art facilities and equipment enable students to test out what standard of practice they’re most passionate about, perfect their skills, and develop their point of difference as a beauty therapist and entrepreneur.

“Ashleigh Scott is a prime example of the exceptional Elite graduates that go onto become successful business owners. At 25-years-old, Ashleigh launched The Facialist, a beauty studio specialising in holistic facial treatments and skincare. To meet popular demand for services and products, she has taken on and trained 3 employees.”
“To harvest this sort of entrepreneurial mindset, we teach our students how to be adaptable to client, business and market needs so they can continue to grow throughout their career – from beauty therapist, to manager, to being a business owner.”
With smaller classes sizes, learners will receive more one-on-one time with tutors to ask questions and open up about any personal struggles that may be impacting their studies.
To provide students with additional learning support they need to meet education and industry standards, dedicated Learner Success Coordinators have been established at each Elite campus.
By tracking student declarations during the enrolment process, the team are able to identify which students have a disability or are neurodiverse. Working closely with trainers, the team ensure tutors are equipped with the knowledge and tools to meet their individual needs of disabled learners.
